x25xe detailed info needed
« on: 10 March 2008, 23:20:16 »

Hi all!
i missplaced  this question in newbies section and now i am placing same question here:

We ported x25xe (1997 omega v6) to frontera and killed imobiliser in the process. So we opted for megasquirt instead.  I have great problems getting info on several key components that i need to start tuning. (we successfuly startted engine but did not get much further ) i will list the components that i need info on, and all data will be greatly apriciated.
- I dont know firing order on cylinders.
-can someone confirm thatx25xe has 60 teeth on crank wheel and missing 2 teeth.
-lamda sensor is it narrow band or wide band (i know there are 2 of them)
what would be correct pulse timing for cranking.

these are info that i found and i base my settings on(i picked info up from calibra of the same build year):

Engine: C25XE Ecotec
2498cc - 24 valve - 6 Cylinder
Multipoint (sequential) Fuel Injection
Quad Camshafts
Catalytic Converter
Bosch Motronic 2.8 ECU

front wheel drive
169 bhp @ 6000 rpm
167.4 ft/llbs torque @ 4200 rpm
148 mph max
0-60 mph in 7.3 sec (0-100 kph in 7.8 sec)
0-7000 revs - 6750 redline limited

maybe someone has base settings for this engine?

I thank you for reading this post any help will be greatly apriciated.

- I dont know firing order on cylinders.  1-2-3-4-5-6
-can someone confirm that x25xe has 60 teeth on crank wheel and missing 2 teeth. Correct,
-lamda sensor is it narrow band or wide band (i know there are 2 of them) Narrow band
-what would be correct pulse timing for cranking. The two mising teeth align with number 1 TDC

What you realy should have done is fit some 3.0 cams.....if you havn't already  :y

Right now just getting it to cough would be great. The project is near breaking a budget and cams were not in it. What can be gained by doing that? I know what cams do but what is the difference?
One more Q. how do i know which cylinder is #1 #2 etc.
