MAF/ Lambda sensors

I read another post about changing the Maf sensor & lambda sensors to help with fuel economy.

My questions are
what are they
where are they
How much are they
Part numba???

Unless you have problems I'd leave them be. They will cause either running problems or an engine management light if they have failed.

The MAF sensor detects the volume of air entering the engine and is used to calculate the amount of fuel required.

The Lambda sensors check the exhaust gases in order to make fine adjustments to the fuel mixture in order for the catalytic converters to be kept working at maximum efficiency.

as an experience a new maf in an fairly old car like mine (97)

increases the consumption but the car goes much better..

and new lambdas decreases the consumption a bit..

Summing them up not a visible gain in consumption..

however blocking EGR changes the picture 0.5 l /100 km

(these figures are from the road comp)
