RADIO SAFE means the radio is in Delivery Mode.  What is worrying is no DISPLAY SAFE, which suggests to me the radio and display may be from defferent pairs. Ouch - if that is the case, the display is toast.

This is what should happen when radio and screen are depaired...

Not sure I'd entrust a dealer to this - it may be toast, but I'd want someone with the ability to us a Tech2 before completely screwing it, and I'm afraid that rules out most dealers/garages...

sounds like the radio has been replaced from the orginal factory fit.

What headunit is fitted?
Its the Siemens NCDC 2013 unit. looks original!
I was refering to maybe a replacement of the standard factory fit, and someone has not updated the code in the book.

It may have gone faulty and been replaced with an identical unit, but this would have a different code.

As mentioned above, is your display colour or mono?
NCDC series radios do not have codes ;)
As I have "radio safe" flashing does it not need depairing and then repairing using the car pass radio/immob codes?

If the radio is in delivery mode, but the screen isn't, the screen is toast. A brick. Useless.

Just downloading your link! How come that the radio, cd player, sat-nav work ok if there is a pairing problem? the steering wheel controls do not work though.

It will, just you will get annoying message and bleep every few seconds.

Thanks for that info! Any suggestions as to how to get over this problem?
