Well i'm getting used to the car now ( had it 4 days) and have discovered a worrying vibration.
not noticeable all the time but is frequent and constant when present, seems to increase with speed. ( a kind of thrumm thrumm ) also as the revs build slowly there comes a harsh vibration just before auto box changes up, its like driving over a series a small ripples in road surface, only its not road condition. This is not a regular vibration but is of some concern as i feel vibes through pedals and gear lever.
  Any ideas guys as i blew the budget buying car and need to sort these probs before they get v.exspensive

would guess its gbox related sounds like its slipping slightly, first job is fluid and filter change!!!
As its a TD they do kill autoboxs!!

Check the engin mounts, that big heavy tractor lump has a habit of buggering them.

Thanks guys for the info, i found that my front offside tyre was mis-shappen n worn on inside. Replaced with spare and hey presto vib n noise gone.

If its the very shoulder of the tyre worn, get geometry done (not just tracking or 4 wheel alignment) to fix the camber issue
