I have just purchased a 1999 2.5 CDX Omega with what is described as siezed engine.
I was wondering if a bare engine from a Vectra 2.5 V6 will fit. I will use all the ancillaries from the Omega motor as it is still there and complete and has not been stripped to investigate.

It should work fine, but you will have to change everthing including the sump

what year is the veccy engine?

Not sure what year it is from, still waiting for reply from the owner.
Did not even think about sump, and of course I suppose that might make dipstick different.
Would manual or auto make any difference.

different bearing between manual and auto on omega, presumably veccy same.  easy enough to add bearing if reqd

Ahh is this the little roller bearing in the end of the crankshaft that takes the input shaft from a manual box.
I presume as I would be bolting an autobox to it, it would do no harm to leave it there.

Hi mate, well if you are able to come get it this week and remove it I have a 3.0 v6 Omega engine...will be a straight fit and you can see it running before removing it...as I want it gone asap i.e. this week...it would be a nice cheap option...
