Does sound like crank sensor.
Didn't you replace the fuel pump / plate recently? Is it still ok?

It was a gen one. Just had a look at the fuel pump and checked the rubber pipes going into it and looks like one has a small hole in it againg. Have cut it back and refitted hopeful the will have been the prob as i guess it would let in air to the system.

will keep an eye on things
thanks for your help all
also will get the crank sensor checked out  :y :y.

Might be worth renewing the pipes to the next join (they have 'quick' fit clips on underneath the car / to the fuel filter).

Perhaps the old pipe has perished or is weakend because it is under strain?
