just fitting new headlight bulbs and doing coolant change when my mind thought back to here and me reading somewhere to check spark plug wells for oil. Pulled one out and there was about an inch of oil in there!!!! :o :o :o :o :o This is cam cover gaskets isnt it?? Managed to syphon oil from the well so could get sparkplug back on ok and get the motor running but I suppose they will all be the same. HELP!!

YUpp.. :(

You need to change the rocker gaskets and clean the breathers.

ONLY use GENUINE Vx parts or you'll be doing the job again within 6 months !!  :(

Allow a full day if you do both gaskets and the breathers at the same time   :)

Must be bad for an inch of oil. Bloke before me overfilled it by about two litres which really hasnt hepped. Thanks for quick reply!!

Just done mine a couple of weeks back.
Just follow the excellent maintenance guide on here and it's fairly straight forward. Took me best part of a day though i was taking time in making sure everything was right.

Gaskets - ' O' rings and tube of black stuff. MUST be gen VX parts.   £73 inc. vat from VX stealers. Lot cheaper on trade card though. :y :y
