Exhaust, Brakes and Possible auto gearbox 3.0 V6
« on: 16 July 2008, 17:26:58 »

just bought myself a Vauxhall Omega Elite Estate 3.0 V6 for the pricey sum of £750 pounds. I managed to get it home and had a check of it all over properly and found i need a new exhaust and brakes all round. (kwik fit quoted me £810 for a new exhaust) so im wondering if anyone knows where the best place to get brakes and exhaust for tthe car?

Also yesterday morning i started it up and an Auto Gearbox light came on im wondering if anyone know what this means, i live on a hill and the car seems to not really want to pull away in first however pulls away no bother in reverse.

First stop a vx trade card via one of the associated websites that will give you one ( google it or search on here)

For around £20 for the card you get access to servicable parts from your local vx dealer - if they participate - and at discounted prices.

Brakes and exhausts are covered on this and you will soon have paid for the card  :) Also for these items dont buy anything but vx.

Tyres, try someowhere online like www.mytyres.co.uk

As for the box - its always worth doing a atf change - messy and smelly and again - search on here.

Hope this helps.

as said if we know where you are , there maybe someone local who can advise on suppliers (tyres etc).

Depending on the age, expected lifespan of the car, it may well be better economy to go for budget exhaust (ebay etc - do a search on here),  but don't go to KwikFit etc. For similar money you can get a much better original GM unit.
