higher boost
« on: 27 October 2007, 20:14:14 »

;D popped round the boys today,
AND GOT THE SHOCK OF MY LIFE ::) HE HAS CLEANED THE TRACTOR!!!
should that be marked on the calender???

while there decided to see if it was possible to up the boost it was running 2bar on the drive over(1bar absolute) so did a little tweaking and instead of it cutting off at 2bar dead it now boosts to a max of 2.07, car is definetly more lively now and it wasnt slow before!! however will be trying a bit more adjustment to see how much more i can safely get, luckily on my car i can monitor the boost temps as well as the pressure and can safely say the manually switched intercooler fan is definetly a worthwhile mod, you can see the difference in boost temp with it on even at 80plus mph!!! where you would have thought the airflow alone was enough to keep temps down, it isnt :-[  so looks like it will be run all the time with the higher boost pressures creating more heat, and just switching it off when cruising :y thanks to the boy for his cups of tea and encouragement and i bet he does his shortly!!!! :y

I did promise to wash the tractor once it behaved, and a promise is a promise, so I grudgingly washed it ;D

As to the boost, I told you you were being too conservative, and it needed a bit more ;)
