Cam Belt Change
« on: 24 July 2008, 20:45:33 »

As i have only just purchased my car last weekend, i think as a precaution i will get the cam belt changed. Does anyone know anybody good in the Nottingham area that could do it and if so how much is it likely to cost me?

Thanks
Steve

You have someone very close and who is very good, if he can't do it he will put you on to the best person. First off ask 'Marks DTM Calib' to make contact or send him a PM.  ;) ;)
regards and welcome

Don't rule out DIY until you have taken a look at the DVD on the shop page and seen what's involved.   ;)

Definately not gonna try it myself just asking for trouble that is. Good to know i got someone in nottingham who is one of the best just not comfortable in messaging someone i dont know, he might find it slightly rude of me. Would normally take any of the other crappy cars i have owned round my local garage but they are a bunch of monkeys and there is something about this omega i have bought that makes me think i should take greater care of it.

if you're handy with spanners but afraid of where to start then i'd be happy to help out.  If you want to bowl down to coventry next weekend with the parts, i've got a locking kit in the garage and the DVD (which is excellent) and have just done mine. you're welcome to change in on my drive/in the garage.  I'm happy to lend a hand to lead you through as well but not to do it for you: why because the satifaction you'll get from doing it yourself!

Hi mate, thats very nice of you to offer. Sadly i am working next saturday morning. Wheres the best place to get the parts i need from. Have applied for my membership at autobahnstormers.com but only sent that off a couple of days ago. Even with your excellent guidance i am still bound to screw it up.
Once again thanks for the offer, it just goes to show what a great bunch of people are on this forum

cheers
