EML Code 16 ?
« on: 13 October 2008, 19:49:58 »

Hi Guys,

My eml is on after doing the paperclip test it is giving me codes 12 and 16, which from what I can see is Knock sensor signal circuit 1?

I have only had the car a week and all has been fine until now, and help appreciated?

Forgot to mention it seem to have come on since I vaxedall the water from the rear footwell from a blocked scuttle, maybe a coincidence??

Cheers

Tony

OK after a bit of googling it appears the the Code 16 is the drivers side Knock sensor, I'll try giving the connections a clean up and see how it goes before replacing it, look like they are about £25 on Ebay.

I cleaned and reseated mine in a different position a couple of days ago and no annoying lights have appeared back.  Usually best to get genuine vauxhall sensors if replacing as the ebay ones tend not to work or don't last long.

Check the cable - sometimes gets caught near belts, or crushed somewhere...
