You need 5 litres for a 50:50 mix, whole system is a bit over 10 & if you just drain via the rad drain tap you won't get much more tha 5 out anyway. My local dealer only stocks 1 litre bottles too, but will get you a 5 litre if you ask. I don't think there's much difference in price anyway between 5 x 1 litre & 1 x 5 litre bottle.
If you're just doing a HBV you're not going to loose too much. I did mine again earlier in the 'summer' and just drianed a litre of coolant off & put a bottle of antifreeze in.

Thanks. Is there anyway of changing 100% of the old coolant???
My mate who has a V6 vectra says his mechanic pulled a pipe off coolant bottle and started engine. This started pumping old coolant out this certain pipe, as he was pouring in clean water in via a watering can. Once water in engine is fully clear he poured in water/coolant via another watering can till right mix was reached???  :-/ That sound right???

Nope as the cold water will stop the stat opening.

You can do I suppose, but not worth the effort IMHO. You can remove the water pump if you want, that'll drop most, but hard work. If you drain via the drain tap and dilute by half a few times, you'll have the vast majority of the original coolant out.

My problem is when I bought omega it still had the old blue vx coolant in it. I got most of it out and put in the new vx orange coolant. The two have mixed and i have been left with a sh1tty greeny colour coolant.

You needed to drain & fill it a couple more times .... but you don't need us to tell you that. ;) :y :y :y

lol the different colours are just for different temp ranges - depending on colour it needs diluting more or less if that makes sense

i fancy a funny bogey coloured coolant tbh :P
for novelty value only i might add haha!

I thought the different colours were to distinguish between longlife 5yr pinky orange and the shorter life stuff, Bluey Green 2 year stuff
