Power Steering Fluid

Can anyone tell me what power steering fluid I need for my 3.0. Noticed it was groaning on full lock so checked level and it dont even show on dipstick!!  >:(

dexron 2 i believe -dexron 3 (or "dextron") knackers the pas pump
or visa versa

Officially it should be Dexron II. Recommendation was Dex III until GM changed their Dex III and made it incompatible with the PAS, so Dex II to be on the safe side.

dex 2 as confirmed in  "service intervals" in faq.
