Hi,

Hi,
Can anyone help? I've just fitted a leather interior in my 1998 omega but the seats came out of an older model than mine and does not have the airbags in the side of the seats. Does anybody know how I can alter the airbag wiring so the airbag light does not light up on the dashboard.

Prety sure it's just a capaicitor in series, but, if the light is on you;l need a tech 2 or OBD2 to reset it.

Others may clarify later :)

It will need a tech 2 to reset the airbag light.

The only way round the lack of airbags issue is to fit a 4 ohm resistor in place of the airbag although I doubt the insurance peope will be to pleased about the lack of a key safety feature

You may have invalidated insurance, so you may have to let them know.

Possible to fit resistor in to fool ecu, tech2 reqd to turn off light.

As stated^^^^^ Insurance will be invalid. Imagine scenario, side on smash, possible injury to persons, insurance co asks "where are the airbags". Remove and fit seats with side bags as it should be. :exclamation

so whats the problem?? just ring insuranc co. tell them youve renewed the two front seats cos of soiling or wotever, and the ones you have put in dont have airbags.........its the fact that you let them know of any modifications and/or changes......cos if you dont, and in event of accident they will use it as an escape route for not paying out !!!!and also by telling them you keep the insurance valid. :y
