Exhaust Blowing
« on: 20 November 2008, 08:08:15 »

Hi
Had the Omega in for service and told the pipes that go into the backbox have gone it had been bodged up when i bought the car in june but acoording to the mechanic is now in danger of just breaking up so ill have to bite the bullet. he rccomended a walker system but run me back and said they could not get one it would have to be a vauxhall one at 445 for 2 pipes and rear box after i got up of the floor i asked in true yorkshire "How Much" he went on to say he could get a bosal a bit cheaper but doesnt reccomend the quality anyway the upshot is it will be 500 fitted i didnt think vx were that dear does anyone know different

TIA
Robert

About 300 quid inc vat for a genuine system.

At the price they quoted you, you can get a custom stainless fitted and get change!

I asked a price off an Ebay trader for someone who had a 3.2 Omega and wanted one fitted.  Next thing I knew he told me he'd put on on ebay (altho I hadn't done more than enquire for a price).

Anyway he's charging £139 but price seems a bit cheap - altho he states its a Vauxhall part.

I think where it says manufacturer he means the make of the vehicle that it fits.  I agree it cannot be a GM part at that price, but is at about the same level as Eternal etc. I think.

if only
i have got to go reluctantly with the mechanic but on his reflection on price its now 425 as opposed to 500 so the exclamation "how Much" may av worked is first price was just of top of his head so to speak but i need a quiet exhaust i cant stand the noisy ones so im going with it albeit with lump in throat and thin wallet
