Oil level sensor
« on: 20 November 2008, 17:01:47 »

Had the car serviced recently, including oil change. A couple of weeks ago the 'check oil level' message came up for a few mintues and then went off. It came on again today and went off. I think this sensor needs changing, could anyone advise where it is located please?

Have you actually checked the level? IIRCC the warning comes up when about half way between the marks.

Fastened to the inside lower steel sump pan, the connection for it is at the back of the sump. The wiring to mine is quite brittle having spent the last 9 years 150 000 miles sat in hot oil  ;). I had to do a re-solder repair when I last saw mine.  :y  :y  :y
