Heater fan sounds like something catching
« on: 22 November 2008, 20:56:37 »

came back from florida,  heater fan was ok, next day it sounded like a bicycle with a fag packets catching the wheels, what i suspect is there is something catching on the fan, it gets louder when i turn the fan strength up and quieter when turned down, it may be the really cold weather but dint seem as effectinve when warming the car. But this may be that there is an obsruction, is the heater fan easy to access and is there a walk thru on here.
cheers

Had the same thing on mine last week - was as simple as a leaf stuck in the top of fan housing - take out pollen filter under scuttle for access  :)

hi
not exactly sure where the pollen filter is, is it easy to remove and would that give me direct access to the fan to check for obstructions. :)

Pollen filter is under the passenger side of the scuttle.

You will not get direct access to the fan from there.
