Engine intermittently missfires and EML on
« on: 08 December 2008, 13:54:43 »

Hi all, I have an Omega 2.0i saloon 1994 model registered in August M reg. Can any body tell me how to replace Cam and Crankshaft sensors. I used paper clip method and came up with the following fault codes

12
19
73
92

could some body tell me what these code mean and how can i correct them.

Thanks

On a 4 pot it's more likely the cam sensor :y Nearly always fix the first code and it'll sort the rest.

12 is the start sequence code.
19 is Incorrect RPM signal.
73 is MAF volts low.
92 - not sure.

i belive there is a guide in maintenance section worth a look. Look at the cam cover, the wire sticking out the top nearest the cam belt is cam sensor. From memory you need to remove the cam belt cover and the ecu tech strip. Something like that anyway...bloody Altzhimers AGAIN!

Thanks to all,

I have managed to change the Cam sensor last night I had to solder new plug on to the old lead as the new sensor is an upgrade and the old sensor is no loger available. Now no EML light and no misfire.

Thanks to all

Now new problem - Some Times engine just dies while on idle or waiting at lights
