have you tried turning the engine another revolution? assuming the belt is still on. I remember when we did mine one side was hard to get the locking tool in. a couple of turns of the engine sorted it.

is the left hand tensioner below the left cam wheel excessivly slack? this could cause it.

mine had collapsed and had pressed the belt hard against the tensiioner housing, wearing away 3/4 of the belt. i was exceedinly lucky I spotted it.

are you on your own or do you have someone helping?

then one of the other pulleys must be out or the belt was put on wrong last time, you really need to get someone to give you a hand to ry and move the two cams manually so that they line up, leave your other locking tools in place.

if the need to turn in on each other you need a very blunt object to push the belt down inbetween them (some force needed) that way they shoult turn at least a tooth in on eachother. if they need ot turn out form eachother then I cant see any other way than to remove the belt from that set of cams, but DONT do that yet incase someone else has any ideas.

It was 6 months ago we last did it so im rummaging thru my brain for images lol

They both need to turn clockwise about a tooth.

push down on the belt on the right hand side of the the cams (that need to move) with the locking tools in place only that set of cams will turn.

this is where you need someone handy to pop the locking tool in.
