Cam Cover Gasket Update - Photos
« on: 16 February 2009, 21:53:23 »

Just thought I'd share a couple of pics i took of my camgasket change.

I knew that they were leaking on the outside because of the smoke pouring off the exhaust manifolds but as for the gasket to the spark plug-well side you can't really tell without puling HT leads which is a bit tricky on the passenger side.

Have a look at these and ask yourself "do i really need to change those gaskets?!"

Drivers side:

Now for the passengers side...

When mine went on the old 2.5 beast on the drivers side bank you could only see the little metal tops of the sparkplugs on 2 of them ... the third one was quite low .. only halfway up the insulator !!

Engine would not start, but had never miss-fired prior to this, it was the folks on here who pointd me at the cam-cover problem.

A clean up of the HT leads using carb cleaner and a cloth and it all still worked fine , once the cam covers and breathers were done .. :)

Seen a few where you can't see the plugs, but one needed new leads...
