Door trims question
« on: 10 March 2009, 23:26:50 »

Hi

I saw the guide for replacing the door trim with a new one (complete piece), but wondered..

- Can buy the white clips separately?
- If so can you successfully remove the whole strip from another car without breaking it and re-attach in this way?
- If not, how much is a new strip & clips in £, the guy on the guide says 45 bucks?

Clips cost pennies, trim strips substantially more, but no prices to hand....   ;)

How about the actual possibility or swapping one car to car? I'm sure someone said they usually break, anyone done this with any degree of success? I have 3 tries left on my scrap car before it goes today/tomorrow ;-)

Should be able to prise the strips off from the top/bottom as the clips break easily but use something like a wallpaper stripper wide flat bladed tool...screwdriver will cause possible gauges in the strip itself...

tbh I think the right way might be to remove them is probably to push the clips out from behind the door after removing the door card but not ever done it this way so not sure if the access is there to do it...
