Surely having the panel off the front of the heater (I'm assuming it's non-climate I.E. 4 knobs rather that the lcd's) and reconnect it that way? It's only a case of 6 screws and the radio out.

you would think that but im affraid its not that easy as its up a bit from the controls, & if you take the controls out its not a big gap behind it but a series of small holes that just about give room for the vac pipes etc

and highly trained stick insects

Has anyone got any ideas as to how to refit this rod without taking the dashboard out or can show a picture of the rod when it's attached .

PS. If it makes a difference my car has Air-con fitted .
