Cracked Exhaust Manifold 2.2
« on: 25 March 2009, 20:42:33 »

Not too serious at this point, blowing goes after about 30 from cold, so hopefully very small.
I haven't looked at it yet, but do these always fail in the same place.
Are they normally repairable, or is it scrap material.
If repairable can you recommend anyone in the NorthWest, or maybe barter for me to supply and program an additional 2/3 button remote (used) with new blade, assuming you have the passcode.
Regards
Jim

Will probally get worse. Not sure about the 2.2 but common on the 2.0, manifold bolts break.

If you cant do it yourself then hunt arround for a price and ensure they stick to it.

Im not a machinic but guessing 2 or 3 hours labour plus bits so you should get change out of 125.00

Just had this myself, mine has a small crack in the manifold itself which i chose to ignore as it is so small, you can get them welded apparently. If the bolts pull out of the head, you can use liquid metal to make sure they stay in place but be sure you use the right nuts or you'll never get the bugger off again.
In essence, a common problem and not too expensive to sort
