As Cybertrucker says. It may well be that the heater matrix is leaking hence the bodged bypass. Only way to confirm that is hose water through one of the bulkhead connectors and see if it comes into the cabin :(

Four options. 1) Instead of hose (bit drastic in your scenario) flexi funnel in bulkhead connector and jug of water, if matrix is leaking should only wet your footwell area. 2) could possibly be O ring seals where the pipes connect to matrix (still a PITA). 3) Matrix is breaked (another PITA). 4) Do without heat :(

there was a post a while back showing that by cutting dashboard in a couple of places the matrix will come out easier but i cant find it, but yes it definately sounds like a heater bypass :(

ahhhhhhhh. SO MUCH THANKS SO MUCH TO ROBG!!!!!!


it took an hour or so but by cutting a hole in the centre console in the drivers foot well i have just managed to remove the matrix!!!

if an administrator reads this any chance you put the section on how to in the technical section?
