Oil Coolers
« on: 31 March 2009, 01:35:35 »

Hi Guys / Gals
I’ve recently bought an Omega 2.5td CDX (R reg) Automatic 128,000 miles it had an oil leak were the oil pipes come through the side of the inner wing to the oil cooler basically one of the pipes seemed to have been rubbing on the plastic belly pan and eventually made an hole in it  i did a basic bodge job fix to make sure the engine hadn’t gone cranky or knocky ...the engine i must say sounds very good with no signs of knock in any way shape or form
A friend of mine has an omega td manual 1995 which he is scrapping but were the pipes come from the oil filter they seem to be going in a different direction …..are there 2 locations for the oil cooler types difference between auto & manual  or is it because this is an older model ?….. I currently run a rover 600 diesel have a rover 820 mk 1 turbo in the garage but this car could replace them both as this car oozes’ quality I do like it a lot and have always wanted 1

any help or info would be greatly appreciated

George
