I have had a stalling problem for a while now and the forum helped me identify this as a faulty MAF. I tried spray cleaning the sensor but no improvement. I have been making do by driving connected but using sport mode only in low speed situations or disconnecting it for town driving.
It drives fine when disconnected but am I risking damage to the engine e.g. too lean?
Thinking about it it will be too rich so apart from using fuel not a problemI bought another MAF with sensor off a forum member that worked fine in the UK but that is worse on the car when connected with the EML being on for big chunks of time. It too runs fine disconnected albeit with the EML light being permanently on as does mine when disconnected.
I need to get it fixed as we have two lots of senior visitors next month needing picking up and running around so it is either another S/H genuine Bosch 0 280 217 519 or an aftermarket job like this one on Ebay

I have checked the wiring as best I can. I am at my wits end (yet again) so any suggestions appreciated.
