Help: What is this engine part ??
« on: 16 April 2009, 21:23:58 »

Can anyone tell me what the engine part is outlined in the picture below in red, as mentioned in previous posts I have water/coolant leaking from the back of this unit (not from either hose) What is it, does it do, is it easy to replace repair etc. Thanks in anticipation of your help.

... it fits between the block and the oil filter (big blue lump) cold water comes in from oil cooler radiator and cools the sandwhich plate and the oil in it, then warm water goes back out to the rad :y

not sure about the leak as i drive a v6 and your motor is a 4 pot, sure someone more knowledgeable wil be along soon...
