Passenger door locked
« on: 20 April 2009, 16:37:13 »

'99 Omega V6 - For some time the central locking has not worked on the passenger front door and I kept meaning to replace the solenoid which I assume is the problem. I have been manually opening this door using the up/down button but this morning the button refuses to move from the locked position and I cannot open the door at all. Button was moving freely yesterday. Central locking on all other doors is still working fine. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any thoughts?

I have exactly the same problem with my passenger door (how come it's always this door?). I know this doesn't help but thanks for reminding me to replace the solenoid FDQ

Spent a lot of time today trying to open the passenger door with no success. Tried prising up the button but it will not move. Tried squirting WD40 all over the place in the gap between the window and door. Still no movement. It does appear that the door is deadlocked although I dont understand how this could have happened because, as I said in my first post, the central locking solenoid has not been working on that door. Looks like only option is to try and get the door card off with the door shut. If I do manage that I'm then not sure how to release the deadlock. If there is anyone out there who can help with getting the card off in this situation and the lock problem it would be very much appreciated.

Happened to me a couple of times again on the rear passenger side door.

Pushing the door inwards from the outside while trying to open the lock from inside has done the trick - goes without stating you need someone to push the door inwards

PS: I might have been plain lucky and am still looking for solenoir motor for mine

Take off the plastic part of the lock then pull up the connecting rod with some pliers. Once the door is open you can remove door card to check the linkages.
I had this also on same door. It turned out to be the small star washer at the handle end of the linkage. It worked fine after a bit of tweaking. Solenoid was a little lazy but didn't need replacing.
