i have got the red light on with seatbelt/airbag symbol on it is it anything to worry about, been like it since i purchased the car

It means there's a fault on the Air Bag system and in the evemt of an accident the air bags will NOT deploy. You need a code reader of some sort to indentify where the problem is and reset it when fixed.
It's not MOT'able though.

Yup, SRS system has detected a fault at some point and disabled the SRS (airbags, pretensioners etc).

Get it on a code reader to find out what the issue is. If it helps, http://theboy.omegaowners.com
