Alittle ticky.... my 2.2 16V cd omega
« on: 16 May 2009, 20:33:17 »

Hi, After my recent service the engine still sounds a little bit ticky. The garage did say that there is a slight blow from the manifold area. Could this be giving the ticky sound. I only notice it when the car is standstill or driving slow.

The engine still goes nicely.

Cheers

Yep, 'fraid so.  Might be something else though.

May well be the manifold, as the 2.2 4Cyl ones have a common problem of them cracking, due to that fact that the walls aren't that thick, Best check that you don't have any manifold studs that are bent out of shape to, as another common problem due to the manifold, all connected !.

No after market ones that I know of for this Vauxhall model, so looks as if maybe a dealer part only I'm afraid !.  :-?

Thanks for the replies. Founds new manifolds for sale at £97 so not too bad. I will get it all checked out and hope it can be resolved.
