Climate control
« on: 14 June 2009, 11:17:37 »

Hi,
The climate control on my 2.2 CD has recently failed - no heat when set to 'auto' and temparature selected. I get heat if i set to 'HI' and aircon is still working. The guy at my local workshop has been investigating but ran out of time last week. He has apparently 'checked the vacuum pipes' which appear OK but I get the impression he is stumped.
Any ideas please?
Ken

Ideally need to get a live data set off it  - where are you? Consider filling out the Location and Drives section of your profile to save being asked a million times ;D

My own suspicions are around the outside temp sensor (is that reading right?) or the solar sensor

The Boy,

Is the climate control linked to the external temperature sensor?
Our temp display has been high for a while (33C when it freezin' out there !) going to change the sensor when I get round to it.
However, been fallin out with the missus she says air con not as good since round about the same time time as temp display failed. I told her don't be so bl**dy stupid !
Was regassed last year when air-con failed completely, was ice-cold after that.

Steve
(please dont tell me my missus was right, can't stand apologising...) :-/

Strange you should mention the outside temp sensor as that went at the same time! He replaced the sensor and that is now working. He also did a 'code read' and that didn't show anything untoward apparently.
Do you think the climate control and the external sensor are linked? If so, preumably replacing the sensor should have got the climate working?
The car goes in again on Thursday so hopefully, I might be able to make some suggestions.
Thanks for the ideas. Any more would be most welcome as I'm hoping to keep the labour bill down!!

Hey,

Not going to say I know what the problem is, however, Im assuming yours is a facelift (its a 2.2) so I do have a climate control 'unit', well, the thing with the buttons on from the dashboard!

Should this be the problem, just left me know and we could arrange something.

Good luck with it.
