N/S/R - Knocking Noise
« on: 19 June 2009, 14:48:51 »

Sorry to be pain, but have a real nagging problem: (not the Wife)

My "X" 2000 Omega 2.6 v6, has a knocking noise when warm coming from the rear N/S.  I had previously replaced the exhaust but this appears to be ok and not fouling anything underneath. The knock can come and go as it pleases and is not dependent on speed.  If you accelerate hard it tends to ease, or slow down. it can knock for 10 minutes or the whole journey getting better and worse as you go along.  Any ideas, just hoping its not half shaft related..... :(

Shock rubbers perished?
Broken spring?
Front subframe bush worn?

Could be alot of things......mine was the first one ;)
