Loosing power at 70mph
« on: 26 June 2009, 10:59:25 »

Hi all, my missus is complaing that the car is loosing power on the moterway at about 70mph then surges again

When we first bought the car over 2 years ago there was a delay in collecting it beacause the salesman told me it had this problem, they then told me it was the air flow meter because it was in the showroom for so long

Does this sound like the same problem, the only thing is the car is run every other day??

Another quick thing, how do you know whether your car is being starved of fuel or air?

Most of the time if the airflow (MAF) is faulty you would see the EML. Check your light is working and run the paperclip test.

As for is it air/fuel shortage, I think you would need a live read. Laptop and diag stuff.
