Oil Leak update
« on: 27 June 2009, 18:28:04 »

Hi everyone..you may remember me saying we had an oil leak ..read the forums and thought it could be the cam cover gaskets..
We bought new ones from Vauxhall and hubby fit them(although there were no signs of leaking and the breather pipes weren't blocked). He also changed the oil, plugs, filters etc while he was at it :)
Anyway after doing all this it was still leaking :( :(
And there was a burning oil sort of smell too after a run :(
You guys said that it could have been the remains of the oil that had leaked and some was on the manifold hence the smell.

Well..I can now announce that you were all RIGHT :)
Just been out for a run, popped a piece of cardboard under the car in the usual place and NO OIL at all on the cardboard...Woo hoo..well pleased now..

Thanks for your input guys :y
