Just changed my HBV
« on: 29 June 2009, 15:03:07 »

Hi

Had a problem where is was loosing water when i did not have the heating swithed on. Mark DTM had a look and advised me that it was the HBV that was broken. Finally got round to changing it today. However my problem still seems to exist. It no longer loses water when i dont have any of the blowers on but still is losing a considerable amount when i have it switched to cold air and cold air with air con on.
My question is, have i made a mistake when fitting this thing or maybe dislodged another pipe etc or is it a case of there being something else wrong besides the HBV.

Many thanks
Steve

Double checked again this morning that i fitted everything ok and that i did not accidently pull any other pipes off and all looks ok. Also the HBV seems to be dry, cant see where the water is coming from only that it has a steady pouring out on the ground when the air con is on cold.
Confused  :-[

Is the engine actually loosing water?  If water is appearing on the ground only when the A/C is on cold, possibility that the water is actually condensate and not engine coolant....
