stalling auto paperclip test results. What now?
« on: 04 July 2009, 19:58:33 »

I still have this stalling problem with my 2.5td auto.the first time i tried a paperclip test no codes came up,second time time i got 19,today I'm getting 19 and 64.
19-Incorrect RPM Signal...crankshaft sensor?
64-Fuel Quantity Control Out of Range.?
Are any of these(or both) likely to be the cause of it stalling?
It also takes a bit turning over to start(some times) a little acceleration helps.
What can i do/check?
I would really appreciate some help with this as its not just annoying (especially when i get the 'haha he's stalled it' look) or holding up traffic at lights and its kind of dangerous when it stalls on a corner!

Crank sensor (no. 19) is the most likely cause for stalling, get it changed it's an easy job  :y
Make sure you fit genuine GM though  :y

Totally different engine. The 2.5TD is the BMW straight six X25DT lump.  :y

crank sensor on TD is under starter motor. Never known one to fail.  The sensor has a connector on it, might be worth giving that a clean, as that tractor blood tends to get everywhere.
