Exhaust tailpipe trims
« on: 03 August 2009, 15:33:06 »

Hello All,
I've got a twin tailpipe exhaust backbox on my facelift Omega saloon from eternalcar. And as some know, the tailpipes are just a bit too short.
This question is posed to Kevin Wood really as I seem to remember him mentioning tailpipe trims. I'm looking to make it look as original as possible like the original backbox on a 3.2. Does anyone know of some tailpipe trims that look original and would fit the eternal backbox? I've looked on ebay for some time, but can't find any that look original and would fit. Can anyone help?

I bought some from Lidl for 6 quid IIRC. Look pretty much identical to the original items.

Many thanks for your reply Kevin. The one thing that worried me slightly was the fact that there isn't lots of room between the two tailpipes and thought that two trims might not fit? But by the sounds of it yours was a success. Do you happen to have a picture of what your tailpipes look like with those trims on it?

I'll see what I can do. They do fit OK and look good IMHO. You want the ones for up to 50mm diameter exhausts IIRC, and they do some with a tapered cut similar to the original.

I'll track down my nearset Lidl store then, hope they still sell them. Once again, many thanks for your help Kevin.

They usually do a week at a time of various specials - gardening, DIY, cars, etc - keep your eyes on the website if they come round again :y
