Has anyone else had problems with the screen trim fitting after having a new screen fitted? Mine doesn't seem to want to clip in on one side any more.

Mine seems to be much better this time... Did they use genuine Vauxhall surround and clips?

Since I had my screen replaced the trim sits proud of the screen and pillars on both sides, didn't notice as they were doing it and then they slapped gaffer tape on it. By the time I realised they'd done it wrong the gloop was dry and removing the screen again would probably have meant breaking it, so assuming that another boulder would soon come crashing into my screen I decided to leave it until next time!

have the same problem, outer rubber windscreen trim pops off the corner clips on my one. Need to buy new rubber trim and see how I get on. Replacement plastic clips look crap, but I think the rubber trim on my mig had some kind of adhesive on the outer edge to keep the rubber trim in place.

If they aren't fitting right... Call them back! It'll be under warranty

they don't providde the surround. Clips?? Maybe that's why it's not clipping in.

The company supply everything apart from the trim rubber so had to fit the original and explained that at the time. I'll have to get a new trim or some clips to secure it. I thought the groove in the surround was a bit big for the sealing strip

Who fitted the new screen, the best Autoglass the worst RAC, or another? :-/ :-/ :-/

A loose surround seems to be a very common problem after a new screen is fitted as most places simply re use the old one. I had the same problem with National Windscreens, although the surround was only loose at the bottom and I fixed it with black automotive mastic. Its been fine since and as National Windscreens only charged £150 to put in a new Pilkington screen as opposed to a quote from Autoglass for around £450 (if I remember correctly) I was well pleased.

same for me. Quotes ranges from £650 to £150. No prizes for guessing which I went for

National Windscreens...!?!?!?!? AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. I had my windscreen replaced twice. When 1st fitted the windscreen was sitting too high on the top of the car, had a 2 cm gap on the top edges, to say nothing about getting the rubber trim to sit in the clips.

Worse is, they only used Stanley knifes to remove the old windscreen and cut big chunks out of the roof card edge near the windscreen and inside side trim.

Went ape on them and their answer was " it was like that when it came in, can you prove otherwise?"

Maybe its only the Edinburgh site that has problems but looking around at their other sites they look more like chop shops than anything glass related.....
