Door strap fix
« on: 04 September 2009, 01:02:22 »

I'm getting tired of the loud clicks made by the door strap on opening and closing, so it's time to get it sorted.
I'm sure I've seen a "How to" on the subject but I can't find it in the Maintainance Guide.  :-/
Can anyone supply the link ?

Mine was doing that a while ago, changed the little plastic bush made no difference. Turned out it was where the strap went into the drivers door, creaked for about a week then stopped, guessing if finally broke, only difference it makes is that the door won't stay open by itself.

Just spoke to Main Stealer. All in-stock apart from the plates, but they could be sourced from another stealer 20 miles away.
Parts chappie said best option was to go for the proper kit...£32.00 + VAT.  ;D Yeah right, thanks but no thanks.

Cheers me deers  :y

Just did mine last week 60p for two bushes and whatever the grease spray cost. Had to tighten bolts on the door side, been fine since i used the guide in the maintainance guide. :) :)
