the leak was on the pipe that goes to the piece on the right by the rad and battery from the servo t piece.
has not cured the prob so must be somewhere else.
i can here all the vent bits moving after turning the engine off. is that normal?  vac going etc

Do check for chafed vac pipes though
Have you checked the non return valve? or added one as suggested?

My last Omega behaved as you have described but seemed to fix itself after I had messed around blowing & sucking to test the non return valve.

Where would that be?
If as dtm said a fish tank non return valve will work....on which pipe and which direction?
should i go and get the vac tank if still on scrap one.
once replaced the one at the front as it was broken.....the pipe was dangling. the guy at d'ship did not know what it did

I think it was next to the pollen filter behind the scuttle.

(My car was a 1994 model and my memory is a little hazy because it was 6 years ago that I had the problem.)
