2.2 Exhaust manifold gasket
« on: 14 December 2009, 14:48:04 »

The ongoing saga of my "most reliable Omega in the world" goes on.
I had the exhaust manifold gasket on my 2.2 done approx 18mths ago including all new bolts and GM gasket.  It's now blowing again, although only slightly, from the front edge. I've removed the heatshield and the manifold looks in good shape with no cracks visible and the torque on the bolts is correct.
My question is, how easy is it to replace the gasket and is there enough flexibility in the exhaust to do so without undoing the bolts between the manifold and the downpipe?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that Marks DTM Calib. Do you mean face the surface of the manifold or the head? (Please tell me you don't mean the head  :o)

The fanimold

You can either get it machined flat or I use a belt sander to great effect
