What's The MV6 Worth?

Hi Guys

I'm thinking of selling my MV6 and wondered what you think its worth?

This is not an advert I need to fix the missfire first before it goes anywhere so I've put it here and not in cars for sale (can't anyway - only 29 posts).

3.0 MV6 W 2000 dark green auto estate - no leather - 92k miles.  Due a timing belt change (do it before selling?).  Other than a dodgy sensor for the headlamp (see 'Low Beam Fld/Vision' post here) it's all A1 (except the missfire of course!).  Xenons, cd multichanger and all the bits except cruise control.  Just had new cat, leads and rocker cover gaskets done properly (Vauxhall main dealer receipt). Good service history.

I need to downsize the engine as the insurance quote for wifey to drive the MV6 looked like a telephone number!

As I say, THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT as you lot are far too knowledgeable and choosy!!! ;)  In any case, it wouldn't be going up for sale until January, if at all, and would be in autotrader to get best deal.

£1,800-£2,000 ish thats if its a facelift.

If its prefacelift, not looking than more than £1,500

I would hold back on the sale until about march if i were you.  Sept to march is a bad time to sell i think.  March onwards seems to be when most people are ready to swap motors.

Just as an example, i just got rid of my W plate 2.0 GLS for £1600 in mint condition with 156k (cambelt changed)  Took 6 weeks to sell as i had a few test pricks pilots who wanted a cheap LPg run about but didn't have the cash.   Even though my GLS had a hand made service book to document the work and services i carried out, this went down a real treat and made the buyer v happy!  :y
  Also my MV6 2.6 back in april cost me 2800 with 64K and full GM history.

If you get all the small jobs done on the cheap before you sell it you'll have more of a chance of a quick sale.

About £1200-£1400 on a private sale, put it on here anyway if you do decide to sell because alot of people do look on here ;)
