I had no hopes whatsoever of a positive outcome of these protests

yesterday i put in half a tank as usual..

  It's always been the same in this country, we have never known how to make a good protest because we don't have the guts to back it up.

  The only way to make the Goverment and the oil companys sit up and listen is to do it the way the Frenchies do it, total blockade, bring the country to a stand still, but that just won't happen here no b*lls and most people like their luxuries to much i'm afraid!!!

I think that it is a shame that it came to nothing.

However, the news coverage has raised awareness of the issue which may result in greater support next time (apparently they plan other action in the early part of the new year).

The protest will NEVER come to anything again as it did a few years ago, the goverment had egg on their faces last time, they wont fall foul again.

did you see the news the other day from italy they are in the 5th day of blockades i belive i wonder if they will be the catalyst for us??
