car level datum points.
« on: 09 January 2010, 23:06:18 »

I have my Miggy estate with front wheels on ramps and each rear corner on trolley jacks at rear jacking points. I'm going to need to confirm vehicle level to re-fill autobox (with engine running),anyone know of four common corner chassis/body level points, possibly could be the four sill jacking points. Or would it be ok to have the autobox  sump flange dead level? Thanks all :y :y

Open one of the doors and stick a spirit level on the kickplate, stick another on the rear bumper, that`s good enough.

I hope you are going to put something substantial there to supplement the jacks as a safety back-up? :-? ;)

Its not mega critical - as soon as the oil gets used, it starts to expand anyway was the long molecules get broken down.
