Laquered Pipes ?
« on: 25 January 2010, 14:02:19 »

No ! NOT knackered but could be in a short while.

Opinions please...don't laugh too much.

Can I laquer the aftermarket "chrome" tips of the rear box to revent them from discolouring or rusting up !

Would laquer be able to cope with the heat ? :-[ :-[ :-[

Personally I wouldn't bother, I'd use 'Autosol Metal Polish'
I use it on all exhausts, brings them up nicely  :y

It does appear to, on my old CDX I used it on the exhaust every month and it looked just as shiny 13 months later.
Ohter vehicles I don't sell on I can track how well it lasts, and in my opinion it has prevented discolouration and rust developing.

Awesome gear!!!  I had a vectra with stainless steel pipes that the previous owner never cleaned and they were nearly the same colour as the "titanium pearl" the car was painted, 30mins, a tube of Autosol, some wire wool and a cloth and the back box was like new!!
