Brake pad wear sensor attachment

I've got the white/cream sensors for 9192124 pads; should they be quite loose?

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

Yes, they move "vertically" quite easily .. don't try and move them "horizontally" .. they will break very easily.

They flop around a bit in all directions though; surely that can't be right?

As long as they are in, fixed, and not falling out, they will be fine....  :y

ahh .. not that loose IIRC ... :(  they are a "clip" fit into the retaining hole, inside which they can rotate which gives the vertical freedom....

Sounds to me like either broken or not inserted correctly

Doesn't matter how much they flop around (so long as they can't pull out), the sensors only job is to touch the brake disc which then results in the driver being alerted that the pads need replacing (although once it does that, the sensor is f**ked anyway).

Hmmm... they're not visibly physically broken and they pushed in and clicked but it's as if either the hole is too big or the plug is too small.

Correct sensor part nš is 90495144.

When you fit to pad you should feel a positive click when correctly fitted.  Sensor should then be free to easily rotate but not free to be easily pulled out.

If warning off they are working ok.
