I have changed the dreaded HBV and fitted brand new genuine GM/VX part from the 'stealers', completed proper  full Coolant flush and top up etc etc. I still have rear of engine coolant leakage from somewhere dripping down rear resulting in perhaps 1 litre loss after 20/30 mile drive. I cannot easily see behind rear of engine to see culprit area (hose/clip/ or whatever else). Any help much appreciated with other likely sources where coolant could be leaking from and how to check out. It's driving me nuts especially after skinning a few knuckles changing the HBV

its possible the oil cooler plate is weaping

Is the oil cooler plate located somewhere in the "V" beneath the plenum and manifold  etc ?

Yup, Plenum off, injection manifold off, plastic plate above oil cooler off.

Plate is then seen, its possible thats weaping, worth checking the coolant bridge to at the back.

I have exactly the same problem although not losing quite as much as you. Have also done HBV recently. Yes, oil cooler is between V underneath plenum and inlet manifold. My next step will be to check all of that area when the weather improves.

In the V you have thermostat housing, oil cooler cover plate, coolant bridge and at the rear of the engine you have a load of hoses plus the coolant transfer pipe all of which is potential for a leak. The best thing to do is remove the plenum, inlet manifold and sandwich plate and plug the hoses that run to the throttle bodies then pressurize the cooling system

I have a similar constant drip from somewhere towards the rear dispack area of mine.
As it is only about an egg cup full a day I am lossing ,have decided to just keep topping up as required with 50/50 mix then will do a pressure test on system,when it gets warmer and drier.

Worse case, it could be an external head gasket leak, but to find out you wither need to presurise the system like someone stated above. Once pressurised you can check the oil cooler, coolant bridge, thermostat housing and water pipes to see if any of these are leaking as if your losing that much in such a short period I would have thought the leak will show itself pretty quick.

It worked for me, but unfortunatly my problem was the gasket!
