Hi All,
I appear to have a little bit of a problem in that the central locking fuse has gone and I can't get into the car to change it. I'm sure that it is the fuse because it happened at the weekend (luckily with the doors unlocked). Unfortunatly I have not had time to trace the fault.
Is there any way of getting into the car that doesn't involve breaking the windows? I have tried the key in the door and the boot and no luck. I've never been able to turn the boot lock and assume that it is the wrong lock for the key.
Really hope that someone can help me out with this one, work has dried up suddenly and I can't afford to smash a window.

Work the key in the door lock, perhaps with some 3-in-1 oil/penetrating fluid too... It will turn, although it feels like it may break

Don't forget to check the door... The button may not pop up

You should be able to open the door with the key .. it is VERY stiff, and the door pin may not rise, but try turning the key and trying the door at the same time. It almost feels like the key is about to break.

I wriggled it back and forth a few times. It seems quite free. I managed to get the interior light to come on but now you mention it I don't recall trying the handle.
Do I need to try the handle while I'm turning the key or after I return it to the top position?

Try the handle at full turn, as said the button may not come up but it will have unlocked

Turn key hard and there's a click that goes another mm or so.

Would you believe it, opened just like you all said. Normally I would have got frustrated and tried to force it but had the baby with me yesterday. Baby's fault then. Glad I didn't break the window.
Looks like there is a little bit of water getting in the drivers door. Any comments as to the likely entry point very welcome.

Glad you're in ... as a small sugestion ...  the occasional squirt of a lubricant like 3-in-1 or Ambersil 40+ will help if you have to do this again.

Just put a little in through the key aperture then excercise the key a few times

I would NOT use WD40 as it is a water dispersant with very limited lubrication abilities..

Also, use the key to lock and unlock the door at least once a fortnight
