Heater Blower/Climate
« on: 19 February 2010, 23:35:33 »

Ok, hopefully someone can give me a few ideas on this one.

My 3.0 MV6 has been running fine and the climate has been great. Getting to temp quickly and always clearing the screen and condensation on windows, however this morning it didnt want to operate correctly.

When I first turned it on it was set at 23 degrees. I set off to work and it usually kicks in just down the road however today it didnt. I increased the temp to max and it kicked in but only onto the screen and out of the centre left hand vent and it wasnt as hot as usual. The engine temp was up to normal but it didnt improve. It was the same on the way home so I put it on vents only and again it was luke warm and only blowing from the centre left hand vent.

When on feet only it was cold and on the screen it was luke warm. I reduced the temp back down to 27 but it does basically nothing.  >:(

What is the most liekely cause of this ???  :-[ :-/ :'(

Ok will try that first thing in the morning and see what happens.

Any more suggestions anyone. I heard once that a conecting rod comming off can cause problems, but then again its not an issue changing the setting from screen to vents to feet its just a temp issue and which way the heat comes out.

Sounds Bizarre, when was the pollen filter last changed, only on my previous mig had a similar problem and it transpired that the filter had not been changed and was completely blocked, £10 later with the new filter in and the blower were working fine.

Might not be related but thought I'd share it anyway.

The pollen filter is not that old so will give it a try. im also going to start her up and leave her running with the water tank lid off to see if there is any trapped air as I did have her stripped down to do the breathers last week.

I cant see this affecting her but you never know so will give it a try  :y

Ok I have done the reset and it appears to have worked. The fans are now working at any temp and I have heat coming through all the vents  :D

Going out for a longer drive in a few minutes so will find out what its like when the engine temp gets up to normal temp  :y
