Ooops... thanks a lot for the advice - however I have already self-lanced myself, with a sterile pin  ::)

Everything that came out shouldn't have been there... the pain is now out of this world, but hopefully now I've lost that, it should subside...

The dentist will kill me, but I just had to do it...

Use the salt water swill NOW. You could make matters worse if an infection enters, even though you used a sterile pin.

Hi James,
The idea of warm salt water mouthwash to act as an antiseptic/clear away any bugs is still good, until the hole heals over.

Unfortunately, it has flared up again, with a passion.

I'm about to get the painkillers into me, this tooth is going to have to be pulled in the new year....

try keeping very strong alcohol in your mouth for a while and dont gulp that with drugs !
